I get it a bit better with those images, and don't think it looks bad in itself, but it very clearly isn't as visually straightforward about what it does or effects as the current BCS icon IMHO.
Still, don't really have an issue with it. Will still gladly fit the new mods and BCSs where appropriate . |

The art department does, well, art related things of course. That should be clear to everyone. But even just in their field of work, they have more important things to do than changing icons. What about the high resolution textures (go take a look at the vexor lights close up)? What about the nebulae and gas clouds, that are so blinding, you have to rotate the camera to darker areas, to be able to see the UI? Ship redesigns? etc.... But, by now, it should be clear to all of us, that CCP determines priorities by throwing dart arrows at a list on the wall. I find it strange that people seem to think that the order of release alone is actually indicative of priority. The only way one could conclude that a single icon is of greater priority than say the hires texture pack because it came out first is to assume that each task must be worked on exclusively. |

WHY NOT ADD NEW CONTENT INSTEAD OF CHANGING THINGS THAT DONT NEED CHANGING!!!!!!! Icon is changed. Game is kill. EVERYONE OUT BECAUSE THEY CHANGED AN ICON. Nevermind content is coming alongside it, that doesn't fit the narrative of the rabble so we don't mention it. All you need to know is ICON KILLED EVE! |

So we're back to art guys doing art means other groups must be not doing the things you want? Sure, that's more reasonable. not at all, but instead of paying the art department to change things that arent needed, the funds should go towards areas of the game that DO need improving. I mean come on, there are plenty of other areas that need looking at before anything artistic does. So fire the art guys because there are areas other than art that you feel could use improvement? If you're trying to make reasoned proposal, you are failing. There are plenty of visual improvements that others are asking for, V5++ which was just released that vastly improved the way some ships look, skins, remodels and other things they are doing which a large number seem to appreciate on top of new assets surrounding gameplay changes.
And really, unless you are suggesting no new ships, effects, structures or general visual improvements, no, you aren't doing without anything artistic. And all this over a task that could have been done in a single person's downtime most likely.

It's not just you that's noticed this... To be fair, Rise posted to twitter. Someone else linked to it from reddit. Why we got a link to a link only the op can answer. |
